About
I create images about the things that happened before I had words for them.
My conceptual work is excavation: examining what it means to navigate Black identity within spaces that are usually predominantly Black or White; what it means to be shaped into surrendering the most precious parts of myself, losing pieces of innocence and authenticity that can never be returned. These images are not abstractions. They are my lived experiences, and the work is how I return to them gracefully full of truth.
While I navigate identity, I also enjoy photographing the landscapes, the places, the world I move through, as it exists differently for me. It is a healing space. My observed interaction with the world around me: a way of working through what's unresolved inside by stepping into what's outside. Not staged, not directed. Just honestly witnessed, and appreciated.
